McDonald’s PH: Glazed Pork BBQ with Rice

mcdo pork bbqRight after hearing about the new offerings of McDo PH, I knew I immediately have to try it out. It’s one elusive product and McDonald’s has kept this menu on and off internationally, so I needed to find out what the fuss was about. πŸ™‚

They have two new items on the menu: the Glazed Pork BBQ with Rice, and the McRib. According to, these two will be served in only 20 McDonald’s branches, so BF and I headed out to the one nearest to us.

The only difference between theΒ Glazed Pork BBQ with Rice and the McRib (aside from the rice and the bread) is the pickles they put in the McRib Sandwich. Since we’re having this for lunch, we both got theΒ Glazed Pork BBQ with Rice with the Cheesy Mashed Potato for P119 each (plus add ons for the drink upsize).

closeupI was not too impressed with the presentation. The onions looked like they were hurriedly placed. The meat itself was a little tough, and there was’t anything extraordinary about the sauce. Overall, it was okay. It’s not that great, but not so bad either (we weren’t able to finish the mashed potato because it was too cheesy though).Β If you’re conscious about your money, however, I’d say it’s a little pricey compared with other bbq meals.

Have you tried these? What did you think about them? Share your thoughts in the comments section below!

I seriously wonder if McDonald’s is trying to get everyone to eat healthfully by keeping us AWAY? I like the IDEA of the McRib, but it doesn’t look appetizing at all 😦 ..I think I’d rather stick with the chicken.
